Being Pregnant and Having a Baby

Congratulations! You’re On The Way!

The minute you see the flashing signs on your pregnancy test stick indicating you are pregnant, everything will never be the same in your life again. Being pregnant is a very exciting yet challenging time in your life, so as early as this time is it’s time to start planning for the arrival of your baby. The minute conception starts, your body will undergo several changes and you will have to alter your life to accommodate these changes for your coming baby. For nine months you will be nurturing another life inside you. It is therefore important for you to take care of yourself to give you and the baby the best possible chance at good health.

Pregnancy and Your Body

Being pregnant does not mean the end of your regular activities. You may have to alter your lifestyle but it does not mean you will have to confine yourself inside a prison cell. Pregnancy is a most enjoyable time as you prepare for the coming of your little one. You can go on with your daily tasks but you just need help and guidance to ensure your safety and protection for your baby while being pregnant.

Prenatal Care While Having a Baby

In order to give your baby the best chance possible to be in the best of health, prenatal care is very important. While being pregnant you need to be closely monitored by your doctor or healthcare provider. Having regular prenatal visits could give your doctor a chance to check if the baby is growing and developing the way it is supposed to do so, and to detect if there are complications so it will be given the immediate attention required.

Being Pregnant and Eating for Two (Or Three)

The most important thing you must remember when you are pregnant is that you are eating for two (or three) so you need to plan your diet carefully. Being pregnant however is not a passport or a license for you to eat as much as you can. A well balanced pregnancy diet is important when having a baby because this is your source of energy and nutrients essential for you and your baby. You also need to prepare for the increasing demands of your body as you progress towards delivery. Being pregnant does not mean you will be deprived of life. You can still enjoy while preparing for the coming of your baby.

Keeping Fit While Being Pregnant

Exercise is important while being pregnant but you must only engage in light activities that will not pose as risk to you or your baby. Exercising and staying fit during pregnancy will help your body prepare for the rigors of labor and delivery. Staying fit will also help you deliver the baby much easier. However, you must remember that strenuous or dangerous activities may bring harm instead of keeping you fit. You are not practicing for a tournament or competition.

Being Pregnant yet Stunning

Being pregnant does not spell the end of your beauty routines. In fact, this is your chance to pamper and lavish yourself with attention. Some women think they grow so huge and ugly during pregnancy but you should think otherwise. You can splurge on stunning maternity clothes and pay special attention to your hair, skin and feet. When you give birth, you will find that your baby will take priority and you may not have time left to enjoy lavishing yourself.

Dealing With Your Emotions

Extreme mood swings is one of the symptoms of pregnancy. You might act gay and laughing one minute, and crying for no apparent reason the next minute. Hormonal changes in your body cause this mood swings and this is complete natural. You probably just found the feeling of having a baby and becoming a parent overwhelming. Any woman who had been pregnant before can assure you that the mixed feelings that cause mood swings occur but it is just temporary. Eventually, when your body has adjusted or when you deliver the baby, this symptom will go away.

Involving your partner To your Being Pregnant and Having a Baby

Your partner may not physically feel the joys and excitement you feel while being pregnant, but he can understand and relate to the challenges you are going through for the duration of your pregnancy. Getting your partner involved in your pregnancy can help you cope with the adjustments and changes you are going through. This is the time when you need emotional, physical and financial support from him. With an understanding partner beside you, you would feel secure and would be happy. Harboring pleasant feelings during your pregnancy can help your body prepare for an easier labor and delivery. Remember, a healthy and happy mother produces a healthy and happy baby.

Child birth Choices While Having a Baby

Preparing for your baby is an important aspect you should consider long before your baby is due to come out. You should have a birth plan so that everything will go on smoothly and you will be free to focus your attention on the business of giving birth. Joining birth classes can help you prepare for the actual time of delivery. Your birth plan should include where you are going to have your baby, who will deliver it and other aspects of child birth. You have nine months to come up with a birth plan to ensure that you and your baby will be in good hands during the final lap of your pregnancy.

Preparing for Labor and child birth

As the third trimester of your pregnancy progresses, your excitement of being pregnant and having a baby will escalate. At the same time, you may experience anxiety worrying about what your baby will look like, if it is in good health, if you are well prepared and fit to be a parent to a newborn child, and other concerns. By this time, you would already have prepared everything your baby needs, like a nursery, your baby’s wardrobe, feeding bottles, crib and all other things your baby will need. Most probably changes had been done to your home to accommodate its newest member. The last trimester is the most crucial time as you finalize all preparations for the coming of your baby. Your birth plan should include time allowances a week or two before and after your expected date of delivery because only a few babies are born on the day they are expected. Some babies arrive late and some arrive early. You just can’t tell so it’s better to be prepared ahead of time.

The Big Day-Having a Baby

Throughout the whole nine months of being pregnant, you have gone through all the changes unwelcome though they are, and now, as labor onsets, you are a few hours away from seeing the fruit of your labor emerge into the world to claim his/her place. Being pregnant had been a challenging time of your life. After you have successfully gone through the agonizing hurdle of labor and delivery, you are now a full-pledge mother. All the pain and sacrifices you have to go through will fade as a memory of the distant past the moment you see your baby for the first time and hold him in your arms.

Life After Pregnancy and child birth

Life goes on after go through with pregnancy and delivers your baby. From then on, you and your partner can pick up your regular routine with the newest member of your family. There will be tough times, you can count on that but with every development your baby undertakes, you will find the experience of being pregnant and having a baby is very rewarding.
