Common Aches & Pains Related To Pregnancy

Your body and your health had been perfectly normal. Until one day, you wake up with the world reeling and you cannot resist the urge to throw up. It seemed like you have walked miles and went rock climbing the night before, with every muscle in your body is aching. You feel like dying. You wonder what’s wrong with you. Relax, you’re not about to die. You are pregnant but your body is just going through some of the common aches and painsrelated to pregnancy. Here are some of the most common complaints pregnant women go through during thedifferent stages of pregnancy:

Morning Sickness

Morning sickness is one of the most dreaded yet common of the list of aches and pains related to pregnancy. Studies have shown almost 80 percent of pregnant women experience this, some slight and some worst that keeps them indisposed. You can combat morning sickness by keeping your blood sugar level stable by frequently eating throughout the day. You should also void fluids at mealtimes and just focus on eating stomach-friendly foods. Morning sickness usually happens during the first trimester of your pregnancy. During this time you should stay clear of strong and offensive odors as this could offset nausea and vomiting.

Breast tenderness

As your breasts prepare for the production of milk, you can feel that your breasts are swollen and painful, especially if you are pregnant for the first time. You will also find a darkening of the areola or the skin surrounding your nipples to. This will eventually go away as your pregnancy progresses.

Fatigue

Fatigue is another one of the aches and pains related to pregnancy. You may find yourself very tired although you have done nothing strenuous at all. You should slow down because another life is growing inside you. Get plenty of sleep and rest because you need it.

Breathlessness

Being pregnant makes you go breathless when you climb even just a short flight of stairs. In fact, breathlessness would be a constant feeling that seems to get worse as you approach your delivery time but you don’t have to panic. You are breathing for two.

Insomnia

Insomnia is another one of the common aches and pains related to pregnancy. This could be because of anxiety as you think about the coming baby and the new role you will be taking as a parent. The best way tocombat insomnia is to try exercising regularly. You can also skip your late-night snacks and drink a glass of warm milk before going to bed.

Backache

Backache is one of the common aches and pains related to pregnancy. You may feel backache at some points in your life when you were not pregnant, but this gets more frequent during your pregnancy. This is usually caused by overstretching of your abdominal muscles, and the hormonal changes that prompt the ligaments in your back to relax.

To help avoid backache, you should avoid activities like running because that may jar your spine. You should also use the proper way of bending, and lifting. You should also change position and not stay sitting or standing for long periods. The best way to avoid backache when you wake up in the morning is to sleep on your side and tuck a pillow between your knees.

Heartburn

Heartburn is yet another one of the common aches and pains related to pregnancy caused by the hormonal changes in your body. To combat this, you should only eat smaller but more frequent meals. You should also avoid spicy or fried foods and drink a glass of milk before you eat. If the need really arises, you can take an antacid or medication that is safe to use during your pregnancy but this requires recommendation from your doctor.

Constipation

Constipation during pregnancy is a common ailment caused by the high levels of progesterone in your body. This causes the muscles of your intestines to slow down and lead to constipation. You can combat this by drinking plenty of water and consuming large quantities of high-fiber foods.

Hemorrhoids

hemorrhoid is one of the most bothersome in the list of common aches and pains related to pregnancy. This happens when the pressure from your baby’s head pushes the veins around your anus to swell. Applying an ice pack or prescription ointment can minimize the discomfort. You should also keep the area around your anus clean and not strain when you’re having bowel movement.

While these common aches and pains related to pregnancy are very discomforting, they will not be there to stay with you for life. These aches and pains will be gone after your deliver your baby and all these sacrifices will dim into the distant past when you will hold your baby in your arms for the first time.

    I have been experienced some symptoms like those. I kept missing to takey bc pills everyday. Soy last period which was last month came two weeks early, so o though I was irregular again. But I had some morning, noon, and night sickness, I ate more, my breast sore, and I had body aches. So I checked with my doctor and did blood and urine test and they all became negative. Then bought some take home pregnancy test and still negative. So at this point I thought maybe nothing. But I still feel like it could be pregnancy. Any advice? I want some answers or maybe an opinion plz. Thanks for reading

    If the home pregnancy test is negative and you are having pregnancy symptoms, still yet, the urine and blood test are negative at the doctor’s office, you are not pregnant, but want to be pregnant. Your body feels like it has conceived. Perhaps you should have your fallopian tubes examined by a procedure called hysterosalpingogram. I am not a doctor but work before as an MA. If you want to see if you have healthy fallopian tubes, have this done right away. Sometimes women are suffering with other problems that causes missed periods. STD’s,Stress and relationship problems, work place conflicts, and other situations in life,whereby you feel the need to be complete as a woman to please a man, boyfriend, or husband that wants children. It is threatening your relationship if you don’t have that baby, and you are overwhelmed with fulfilling your goals to become a mother, or get pregnant. These are different. Which you want and if you want to become a mother do it. Stress can cause hormone imbalances and amenorrhea. I am not a MD, but I have experienced real life pregnancy near death dilemma in my life. My story is that I had an ectopic pregnancy, which was very painful and life threatening. I nearly died for sure. I received a positive home pregnancy test from the start. The hospital and medical clinic visited kept saying the pregnancy test was negative. I always doubted them and did not give up on to get a positive. When I reached 8 weeks it was when they noticed hcg levels in my urine/blood test. I went to hospital because I experience severe pain and cramps on the right side, which included a form of paralysis type of muscle spasms in my lower back, thighs, and legs. I felt a protrusion in my womb as if I was in labor, and the hospital sat me up for 4 hours without water or medical attention. They put me in a cold room as if they expected death. I had Metlife insurance but they could not reach my insurance for approval. My husband gave them hell and show his pay stubs of all the insurance payments on his paycheck. They immediately took me in for a sonogram and it revealed a tubal, had rupture and major surgery ordered. I felt like the world had come to an end. I lost the baby, my first and have been telling this story to help other women. Don’t worry, about getting pregnant. Check your health first, be sure your tubes and womb is healthy from PID, endometritis, and STDs, cervical cancer by regular PAP, and when all check out good health, take prenatal vitamins for 6 months to a year and you should get pregnant, no doubt.Good luck.
